I thought Jennie Clapper's maiden name was "Wilson" (I swear I remember her telling me that) but when I look her up I see the last name of Burke. That would make sense because my parents dragged me to a wedding (I was maybe 11) of relatives (who I had hardly ever seen) named Burke.

Thank you for posting this! The Earl you mention is my grandfather and I remember meeting most of his brothers and sisters, especially Great-Uncle Hank (Henry) and Great-Aunt Myrtle (my favorites!!!). Grandpa Earl was married to Jennie Clapper (I believe her maiden name was Wilson). They had 3 children, Earl Jr.,Robert and Jeannete(Doe)(I think her last name was Doe and I think I spelled her first name correctly). Jennie Clapper (Grandma) was born March 3, 1897 and dies May 1, 1978 at 81 years in Los Angeles. She is buried in Chicago.
