Robert G. Clapper, 84, Meyersdale, died Sept. 13, 2005, at Meyersdale Medical
Center. Born Aug. 25, 1921, in Meyersdale. A son of the late Carl R. and
Margaret (Saylor) Clapper. Also preceded in death by his wife Doris (Byers)
Clapper; and a brother Dale J. Clapper. Survived by three children, David B.
Clapper, and his wife Sharon L., Meyersdale; Jon C. Clapper, and his wife
Sharon S., Meyersdale; and Kim Marie Clapper, wife of E. J. Woody Miller,
Evergreen, Colo.; five grandchildren, Joshua; Jude and his wife, Andrea;
Jessica; Jon Gabriel; and Aurelia Bellavita. A brother of Marie Cole, New
Castle, Del. Also survived by a special friend Mary Howar, Meyersdale. Bob was
a member of the Meyersdale Church of the Brethren, and was a veteran of the
U.S. Army World War II. He was the former president and owner of Clappers
Building Materials Inc., Meyersdale and Rockwood. Bob was very dedicated to his
family and was very active in community activities and organizations. He was a
member of the American Legion Post 112, VFW Post 3504, Charter and life member
of BPOE Lodge 1951, WBCCCI Airstream Club, and member and past president of the
Meyersdale Lions Club. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at
the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m.
Saturday at the Meyersdale Church of the Brethren. The Rev. Pete Kaltenbaugh
officiating. Interment Meyersdale Area Union Cemetery. Memorials may be made to
the Meyersdale Church of the Brethren Memorial Fund, or the Meyersdale Medical
Center. Arrangements by the William Rowe Price Funeral Home Inc., Meyersdale

Danny G. Clapper, 72,
of Meyersdale RD 3,
died Oct. 26, 1974,
at his
home. Born Dec. 8, 1901, in Ellerslie, Md., he was the son of the late
Rev. Daniel and Machel (Hoover) Clapper.
He was preceded in death by his
wife, the former Kathryn Bolden, and a son, Graydon.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Phipps, of Orlando, Fla.; and
six grandchildren; also a brother, Carl R. Clapper, and a sister, Mrs.
Nannie Tressler, both of Meyersdale RD 3.
For 40 years he owned and operated a grocery business here and later was
in landscaping and lawn business.
Funeral service was conducted Wednesday morning in William R. Price
Funeral Home, Meyersdale, with Rev. John Glick officiating. Interment in
Sts. Philip, and James Cemetery, Meyersdale.

Carl R. Clapper, 79, of Meyersdale RD 3, died May 20, 1975, in Sacred Heart
Hospital, Cumberland, Md. Born March 10, 1896 in Ellerslie, Md. A son of
the late Rev. Daniel and Rachael Hoover Clapper. Survived by his widow,
the former Margaret Saylor
and these children: Robert and Dale, both of
Meyersdale RD 3, and Mrs. Marie Cole, of New Castle, Del. Also seven
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A brother of Mrs. Nannie
Tressler, of Meyersdale RD 3. Clapper's Building Materials Inc. was
originally started in 1925 by Mr. Clapper under the name of Meyersdale
Concrete Products Works. The firm is marking its 50th anniversary this
year. Mr. Clapper was a veteran of WWI and the oldest charter member of
the Meyersdale Lions Club. A member of the Church of the Brethren,
A former member of the Meyersdale Community
Hospital Board of Directors, the Meyersdale School Board and a former
director of the Second National Bank and a former director of the Union
Cemetery Association. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday
and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale,
where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday with the Rev. John Glick
officiating. Interment, the Union Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy
should take the form of contributions to the Church of the Brethren,
Meyersdale.
