Have you learned anything more on your Philo Clapper? I found a Philo Clapper in Parma, Monroe Co., NY census records for 1870, 1880 and 1900 (in 1900 he is listed as Philip). I also found him in 1850 in Parma as a 17 year old laborer living with another family (last name looks like Waterhoule or Waterhouse).
Philo was born in May 1834, NY. Both of his parents were also born in NY. His wife was Elizabeth (she is listed as Sarah in 1880; Elizabeth S. in 1870). She was born June 1834, Vermont. Her father was also born in Vermont; mother in New Hampshire.
Children, that I've been able to piece together from census records, were Sarah J., born December 1856, NY; Lucy J., born August 1862, NY; Philo B., born about 1865, NY; and Dexter, born about 1870, NY (probably late 1870 since he does not appear in the 1870 census).
I'm curious about "Philip" and Elizabeth's granddaughters who were living with them in the 1900 census. Grace, born September 1882, NY and Blanche, born April 1886, NY. Sarah and Lucy are living with their parents also. Sarah is listed as "Sara E." and is widowed with two children. Is it possible that Grace and Blanche were her children? However, no different last name is listed. Just the first names with the slash mark indicating the last name is the same as the head of household.
I'm curious if your Philo Clapper is the child, Philo, born in 1865, or perhaps a son of his. Philo doesn't seem to be a popular male name, that I can see at this time.

I'm looking for info on Dorrance Benjamin Clapper, birth date unknown, died 9-14-1893 in Pittsburgh, Pa. He lived in Philadelphia for awhile and two of his children were born there. He was married to Barbara Ann Aregood, birth date unknown, died 1-30-1904. I am interested in knowing if Clapper and Aregood were born in this country or were from Germany. D.B. Clapper is my great, great grandfather. Do you think D.B. Clapper spent time in Philadelphia with relatives who might have been your relatives?

I am trying to connect Elizabeth Clapper Filkins as the daughter of Peter Clapper and Hannah Clapper, Elizabeth was born ca. May 1824 and died 29 Apr 1874. She married Losee Filkins ca.1844 and had 3 children. Peter was born 1790 and died 24 Mar 1870 and Hannah was born 17 Nov 1795 and died 18 Dec 1865. In the 1865 NYS census Hannah is listed as having 10 children. I know the ones that are on the 1850 census but not the rest. Does anyone have this information.

It took me a while to find it again but if you go to
http://cgi.ebay.com/Evangelical-Lutheran-Church-1818-Rare-Old-Book-Bible_...
This is item # 7004458549.
You might also try looking for "Evangelical Lutheran church 1818 rare old book bible and find it. It was printed in 1818 in Harrisburgh by John Wyeth. It only has 3 more days to run. There is another one that says German 1816 new testament with Inscription and this one looks like Floris T. Clapper and it is item # 7004395244.
I got a very old Bumbaugh bible with someone telling me about it. I was thrilled. It was our family and went back to the 1700's with family births and deaths and it also had old newpaper clippings from about 1850 on. It was sold when I got there but I wrote a note to the buyer and he sold it to me for what he paid plus shipping. I bought another with another line that linked to the Bumbaugh's and bid on it and won.
Good luck if its your family!
