Mary Clopper, I have one Clopper that fits that time frame. I have only his birthdate and not his spouse. I will attach my Notes for his father, Henry Martin Clopper, originally of WashingtonCoMd. If the Nebraska geography fits your data then I could send more on Henry Martin's eastern kinfolk. Jack Clopper jackclopper(a)aol.com

A Martin Clopper was a member at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Clear Spring, Md. - April 1, 1860. (Source: St. Paul's Lutheran Church Records)
A descendant of Jacob Clopper, Martin's father, said that Martin left the Clear Spring area for Kansas to avoid the Civil War. A daughter of Henry Martin, Anna Clopper, became a teacher in Gypsy, Oklahoma. She attended a Clopper reunion in Blairs Valley in 1940. Beulah Clopper Carter, Allen Clopper and Charles W. Clopper had been diligently trying to discover what Anna's relationship was with the Blairs Valley Cloppers. Beulah said that she had attended that reunion at Blairs Valley and that she remembered Anna as being a middle-aged red head.
Source: Beulah Clopper Carter says:

On April 21, 2002, Elizabeth Clopper Troxell received this information from a researcher in Franklin County, Nebraska:
Henry M. CLOPPER applied for homestead on 15 April 1874, and received certificate on 29 April 1882. Land location was in section 18, Township 2 North, Range 14 West of the 6th PM.
Oddly enough, no CLOPPERs are listed in the 1885 Nebraska State Census. Were they missed?
The 1876 Franklin County School Census shows no CLOPPERs.
The 1907 Franklin County School Census shows no CLOPPERs.

Dear Virginia,
I have no answer to your question but I would like to pose another that may help a lot of us out.
A little over a year ago, my brother (Drake) volunteered to allow me to have cells from inside his mouth to be analyzed to help our line learn who our GGG grandfather's parents were, etc., etc.
There is a list for DRAKE(a)Rootswb.com and they are actively involved with the male (Y-DNA) study through National Geographic, IBM, University of Arizona and most recently the Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland. From the results, which are ongoing, we have learned that we are NOT English but rather IRISH! And, up to this point, no other DRAKE family in the United States is related to us. Through ancient writings, including the Bible back to Adam and Eve, we have a paper trail except from 1200 through 1600. We did learn that the English made their way into the culture, intermarried, tried to abolish the language, stole their lands, etc., and all but eliminated the DRAKE name. Now, the genes are carried by names such as McDonald, etc. I am working dilligently to find those with the same genes and have, so far, found 7 in the USA and one in Australia. In essence, it appears that we are an extremely small group of peoples BUT, I have made a way for as many as want to have their DNA checked because we are looking to close that 1200 - 1600 gap. (I set up and paid for the process that others can attach to, via FamilyTree DNA, the company National Georgraphic, etc., uses. Lord willing, we will be able to solve our "problem".
I firmly believe that Klepper, Clepper and the various variations such as Klapper, Klopper, Kleffer, Kloepher, etc., etc., are one and the same family. Can you help me with finding males with any variations who would be willing to take the test? I would be glad to supply the information to them and will manage the program for the FAMILY. My husband, Thomas W. Clepper, is the oldest known living family member and he will be 80 next may and is in very bad health. We know, through research that there were 2 or 3 brothers who came from Germany in the 1600 or 1700's, that they came on the Ship Chance by way of Cowes and landed in Philadelphia. From there, two of the brothers stayed in PA and the third one, our line, went through VA into TN and from there spread to TX and all over! The men were very prolific. Mr., K/C, my husband's grandfather had 21 children by 2 wives - all but about 6 of them were boys.
Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated. I have no problem writing or calling possible candidates to discuss this with them.
Thank you kindly, MERRY CHRISTMAS and God Bless.
