Llewellyn Clapper Sr. was married twice but his first wife's name is unk. They had sons named Thomas H. (b. 1879), Elmer P. (born 1881), and a daughter named Forence A (born 1888).
I'm posting this to help a pal who doesn't subscribe to Acestry.com. Her husband's grandmother was the second wife of Llewellyn Clapper Sr. Her "English" name, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Mitchell, was given to her by Federal authorities for she was a full-blooded Apache born in AZ in 1871. Following the final capture of Geronimo and his relocation to Fort Marion, FL in 1886, we believe that Lizzie may well have been one of the Apache children sent North to the Carlisle Indian School (also attended by Jim Thorpe) in Cumberland County, PA. Llewelly Sr. and Lizzie had children named George, Charles, Conrad, Llewellyn Jr., and Naomi and maybe a couple more who died young.
If anyone can help with this line, please contact my pal directly. Her name is Nancy Lemon Clapper at xlemonx2go(a)yahoo.com
