Their son Lynne Derwin Miller who was born in Coalgate in 10/16/1913 and died in Kansas City, KS 7/6/2001. I'm trying to find specifically who George's parents were and his grandparents and to verify what Martha's maiden name was and who her parents and grandparents were. I'm really lookin general for any information about them or ancestors or decendents.
Thanks,
Jeff

David P Clapp was born in Mass. He does have a daughter, Eunice that was born 1809-1812(depending on the census). David's wife is Patta Gould she goes by Martha in the 1860 census. Patta/Patty moved to Eaton County, Michigan with her 2 daughters Eunice and Lucy(b.1806) and some of her grandchildren. Hope this is helpful.

For those researching Elisha Clapp and members of his family of origin, I have recently unearthed a couple of documents that help prove his parentage, siblings, and date of death.
A letter found in the Briscoe Family History Center in Austin TX contained the following letter in the 'Elisha Clapp of Houston County' file. The transcription:
Texas Red River County Dec 22 1843
Dear Brother
Through the mercys of a Diviane providence I am still in the land of the living and I hope that few lines will find you and Family the same and injoining all the Blessings of life. We are in moderate health at presant but have been very sickly this year. I will give you some information about our friends in the Illinois. Would to God could write you more better newes. First I will tell you that Father and Mother Both departed this life the year 1841. Father die 19th July and Mother the 15th of August. Brother William wife died the same year on the 10th day of February. Brother Able Clapp Departed this life about four years ago and all of our sisters have died but Sister Nancy. John Lawrence and his sister Matilda is ded. Brother Adam is living on the same place yet. Brother John Clapp is living in the lower part of Kentucky east of the Ohio about fifty miles from Caladonia. I would be glad to come to see you but I’m not able to ride but very little a grate parte of my time. I am very mutch troubled with the Rheumatic pains till I am ageting vary weakly. I would be glad to leave this country if knew where to better myself. Mi lofs by the hiwater was vary great. I had upwards of one hundred head of cattle drowned and five head of horses and a good stock of sheepe and hoges. The water was three feet in my house and I lived upstairs several days. My land by the river is vary mutch injured with the sand.
I have wrote to Brother William and exspect a letter vary soon. If I riecve one I will write to you agane and let you no what I intend doing. Brother William writes to me that he is broke up in that country by being a security for a Tax collector who ran away and left his securities to pay six or seven thousand Dollar and that he would move to Arkansas or Texas. I do not have more to write to you. I shall conclude.
Elisha Clapp I Remane youre
Brother
David Clapp
I have a good copy of the scanned letter on my Ancestry.com. family tree: http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/26329146/family
David may have mixed his parent's death dates up in his letter, Adam Clapp's tombstone in Illinois lists his date of death as 15 August 1841.
Brother Joel Clapp is not mentioned in the letter, living or dead. My guess is that he died at a young age and so it would not be mentioned since it was previously known information.
There is a Joel Clapp in Houston County TX during this time period but he appears to have come from Alabama and may have been kin from North Carolina.
There was also a copy of the Texas Presbyterian newspaper dated Dec. 1851 announcing the death of Elisha Clapp of Leon Co., TX. (A scan is on my Ancestry page).
This death date is also supported by wife Elizabeth's initial legal document created so she could begin the probate process in January of 1852. The monument in Mustang Prairie Cemetery erected in the early 1900's lists his death date as 1856, obviously an error. His wife is also listed on this monument as 'Rebecca Clapp'. She left no documents during her life time nor is ever mentioned as a Rebecca but Elizabeth. I wonder if she used the diminutive 'Becky' and it was incorrectly formalized into Rebecca instead of Elizabeth.
