Thank you. That would be fascinating to see. If you would like to email me at Coloradoan(a)hotmail.com we could communicate directly and that would be easier. I also believe Lewis Clapp was Wesley's brother, and Lewis was married to Dotha Brundage, Alaphan's sister. Do you have that info.? Also, do you know if Wesley was married once before his marriage to Alaphan? I have found a Wesley Clapp marriage record earlier, and he would have been old enough. I can't find any info. on Wesley after 1894. Thank you for your response. I hope we can help each other out.

Is there any later edition of "The Clapp Memorial" about a 2nd marriage for Wesley after he divorced Alaphair which I understand was around 1880? Boy, that 1890 census would give me a lot of information.

both Gilbert and Wesley were descendants of George Gilson Clap, one of the first five Clapps to come to this country.
The information about Wesley and his first wife Alaphair Brundage is contained in " The Clapp Memorial" published in 1876 and is available on Google Books. i have the book and would gladly do lookups for you.

Hi
I am James (Jim) Clapp from Clearwater, FL. My family is from Massachusetts and I have been researching the Clapp family for about 15 years and have a GED of about 30,000 names. The oldest date I have 1500 up to present date. You may have a link to how the Clapp's went to the Southern and Western USA. Looked at your pictures of the manuscript of your G Grandmother Radiant.

I am researching my wife's CLAPP family history. Her Great Grandmother, Radiant B. Word Thompson, was living and working as a genealogist in Washington DC at the time she donated a CLAPP family history manuscript to the Library of Congress in 1946. I have posted images of her manuscript online for other researchers and family members to view. Regrettably, this work is not sourced. Nevertheless, I hope this document helps someone out there ..

I believe that Wesley married my ggrandmother Vina Huber nee White. My grandmother, was born Baby Girl Clapp to Wesley G Clapp and Vina B Clapp, May 1 1889 in Battle Creek Twp., Calhoun County. Birth information says Wesley was born in New York and Vina in Ontario. Canada. According to my grandmother she was born in Harmonia Michigan, which is no longer in existance. Vina left Wesley around 1892, but was told that my gram had step siblings from Wesley.
I've been trying to find a marriage certificate for them and have searched Michigan records from 1886 to 1888 to no avail.
Vina was married to Henry Huber and lived in Buffalo NY according to the 1880 census. I checked the directories in Buffalo and he disappears from them after 1882.
Do you think it's possible that your Wesley is my ggrandfather?

Hi:
Wesley was married to Alaphan/Alaphair Brundage the sister of my g-g-g-grandmother. They married Feb. 15, 1866, had at least four children (one died very young), and were divorced by 1880. Have you checked out Find-a-grave? Pictures of their headstones are posted there. Thank you.

Does anyone know anything about a Hannah Clapp who married one Daniel C Hatch in Westminster VT? I do not believe this is not my line but I am interested in drawing other connections by tugging on the threads of this family tree.
Daniel was born 1789 (unknown as to where) and died Jun 5, 1815 in Westminster, VT. He married Hannah Feb 26. 1811 and they had 2 children (and I know some of the descendant history) before he died. I am really trying to figure out who Daniel and Hannah's parents were and if they were related to other Clapp or Hatch relatives in the area.
Thanks for your input. Possibly there is a direct descendant or a distant cousin who can shed some light on these folks.

Roger Clap and Johanna Ford arrived in MA in 1630.
There is a book called the Clapp memorial, published in 1874 and available free on Google and itcovers all of the Clapps who first came to America.

I don't know if we are connected. My dad's name was Roger Clapp. Our family lore was that the Clapp family came from Surrey England 20 years after the Mayflower.
