Francis Boardman Clapp
Oliver Blake Clapp
Arthur Lincoln Blake
These three men emigrated to Australia in the early 1850s and were associates in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, particularly in the horse coach trade.
Francis Boardman Clapp was b. 27 June 1833, Holden, Mass, son of Oliver Clapp and his wife Mary Boardman.
Arthur Lincoln Blake was b. about 1830 in Mass.
Is there any blood relationship among the three men? Any help appreciated in identifying the ancestry of all three.

I talked to the Librian at the Stephenson County, Illinois Genealogical Society. They could find no record of the Simpsons ever being in Stephenson County. She said there would be no written record as they did not keep records until 1878. However she did do some more research and I have copies of the letters that she sent to me if anyone in interested in the contents; please contact me. The Amos Davis that every one finds in Stephenson County, is the Amos Davis born in Bucks County Pa. married to Mary John and they are the parents of Amos Davis married to Mary Jane Scott and they are the foster parents to Mary Ann Simpson, John Amos Davis and Mary Elizabeth Allred. I do have copy of the 1840 Census record for Dupage County, Illinois done in April of that year and showing both Lyman Simpson and Amos Davis/Mary Jane Scott there. I have been in touch with the family of Caleb Hersey Davis II, the brother of John Amos Davis and they are searching to see what data they
have. They live at Lehi, Utah, a short distance from where I live. The Librian did find a pprobate record for an Amos Davis in Stephenson County, but it is a different Amos Davis. The first Cemetery established in Stephenson County was Mt. Pleasant Cemetery and I find no record of Mary Ann Clapp being buried there, but it could be a unmarked grave, but the people coming into Stepehson County kept some very good records of the folks moving in. You can see those by going into each of the places established in Stephenson County, mostley they were small towns. There is a Brewster Precinct, but not a town and there are maps of it to be had from the Genealogical Society if anyone is interested.

Hi,
Deborah Braus and I Sue Clapp Johnson are interested in your reply on Washington Clapp. Is this George Washington Clapp? David Clapp was one of the fathers of the Clapps. My grandfather is George Washington Clapp and his father is George Clapp. William was the father of them, I think.
PLease email me sjohnson(a)garygreene.com. Or to Deborah thru Ancestry.
Thanks
Hope we can learn something.
