WARREN D. CLAPP, 73,
died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, 6:41 a.m., at Hospice Home, Fort Wayne. Born on Feb. 28, 1931, in Columbia City, he was the son of Royal D. and Nondas Park Clapp. His formative years were spent in Columbia City where he attended the West Ward Grade School and graduated from Columbia City High School. He also attended the Culver Military Academy. After completing high school, he attended Wittenburg University, in Springfield Ohio, where he was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. After completing his education, he returned to Columbia City and became associated with family business, Columbia Grain and Feed Company, serving as the secretary-treasurer from 1954 to 1986. He served in the U.S. Army, in Germany from November 1952 to October 1954. On Nov. 23,1956, he was united in marriage to Martha M. Clapp and they have always made their home in Columbia City. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, served as an Elder and Receiving Treasurer of the church, member of the !
Parts and Spares at the church and also a member of the Columbia City Elks Lodge, and had served on the Columbia City Board of Zoning Appeals. The surviving relatives include his wife, Martha; four daughters, Lydia Stratman of Columbia City, Lesley (Dr. Thomas) Vogel of Fishers, Mary (Mike) Burris of Bluffton, Ohio and Molly (Fred) McClure of Fort Wayne; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Douglas. Funeral service is 10 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church, with visitation one hour prior to service. The Rev. James Haugen, church pastor, officiating. Visitation also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. Burial in South Park Cemetery, with graveside Military Honors presented by Whitley County Korean War veterans. Memorials to Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home or Zion Lutheran Church.

I am related to Amos Clapp through marriage to my Grandfather's sister,Rafella(Corella).They lived in Lomita Ca,where he was a Dr.I do have one picture of them,but would love any more info on their children and family!Amos was the 5th child of Frank Lorenzo and Grandson of Benjamin Lynn Clapp.Thanks
