Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Maybe this is a good time to remind everyone that the August gathering
at Brick Church is coming up soon...

-Program_ Jimmy Campbell– A Brief History of the Militia System.
The militia in colonial America through the Civil War, and its Impact on
Everyday Citizens
Jimmy Campbell has been involved with Revolutionary War living history
since 1981 and blacksmithing for about 20 years. He’s worked with the
High Point Museum as a smith about 15 years, is a native of High Point
and now resides in Greensboro. He is also a watch maker specializing in
the repair of antique key wind pocket watches.
Campbell’s presentation will include information about the Battle of
Clapp’s Mill and the Clapps.

Hi, cant help you directly with this query but note you have a Julia Clapp married William H Burr b. 1887 and they had 3 children plus an adopted daughter. William had two brother s and two sisters one of whom was Frederick J Burr b.1861. He is my great grandfather. He married Jane Shiels from Scotland and had two children. The parents died from TB c 1897 and the children were brought from London to Edinburgh to live with uncle. Interested to know why they were not farmed out to William and Julia or the other brother Robert GD Burr and Ada who were living in Hornsey.
