Dear Gladys, I believe that some time ago you were in contact with my friend, Martha C. from Spring, TX. concerning the Clapp Cemetery in Walker County, TX. I am working on research on Joel Clapp-- trying to prove that his first born child was Eliza Jane Clapp Foster Humphreys. Liza Jane was my gg grandmother. I can place her in Hickman and Calloway County, Kentucky when Ludwig died in Kentucky. I look forward to hearing from you.

Looking for parents of Mary Clapp, b. 06 Nov 1800, CT. She married Job W. Perry on 21 Feb 1820, NY. They lived in Volney, Oswego Co., NY in close proximity to a Joshua Clapp & his family. There was also a Lucy Clapp livivg nearby. By 1830, Job Perry & Mary Clapp Perry were living in Perrysburg, Cattaraugus Co., NY. According to land records in Perrysburg, Job Perry bought land which was part of Lot 16. Nathan B. Clapp & Charles Clapp (non-residents) also owned other parts of Lot 16. By 1835, Nathan B. & Charles were not listed, but Job's acreage had increased, so I believe Job bought (or inherited) Nathan & Charles' land.
Job & Mary were living in WI by the 1840 census, where they stayed until they died. Mary Clapp Perry died 17 Dec 1866. I believe Mary is the daughter of Nathan B. Clapp & Eunice Durfee, but Mary is not listed as their child in any database I've found. The only source I've found that could possibly confirm this is the 1810 CT census, listing Nathan & Eunice with 4 children, 2 boys & 2 girls. According to all family charts I've seen for Nathan & Eunice, they only had 2 boys & 1 girl at that time. Could my Mary be the other girl? If anyone has any additional information regarding Mary Clapp, please let me know. Thanks!!
Joan Cameron
