Does anyone out there know anything about Mary Ann Clapp born around 1810, married Lyman Simpson, and died 10 Feb 1840, but not at Brewster, Stephenson, Illinois, as there is not a town of Brewster, there is a voting District there, but actually, what everyone is referring to as Brewster was only a ferry crossing; I have this information from residents in that area of Illinois. The nearest town of any size around where the ferry was is Fairfield. Mary Ann was born in Brookfield, Mass, but I can't find any concrete proof of that either.

Here is my line:
Reason Clapp --> Rozella Clapp (Often seen as Rossella, Rosetta, etc.) -->
Robert John McClaskey --> John Robert McClaskey --> Lily Marie McClaskey
--> Alvin C. Rowe, and then me, Peggy Rowe.
I descend from the Brick Church (German Heritage) Clapp line.
Hey, while I'm here, has everyone discovered what a neat resource that
www.findagrave can be at times. I'm finding more and more of my ancestors
tombstones transcribed there. And recently I found a gr grandmother
(Cordelia Jane Stuart McClaskey) was not only transcribed but someone had
photographed her headstone. I was so pleased... I just about cried.
I have been donating photographs there for almost two years now. But, I
never really thought to look for my folks until recently. Last night, I
found two 5th great grandfather's in Maine!
Even if your folks aren't there, you should check back every once in while
because it seems like there are more and more volunteers everyday!!
:) Thanks for sharing your family history with everyone!!
Let's hear more from all you Clapp's out there! :)
Listmom,
Peggy
