Hi,
I'm new to this list and I'm hoping someone can help with a very stubborn brick wall!!
Abraham CLAPP married Mary WEBB in Blackawton June 1734
They had 4 children that I'm aware of :-
Edward CLAPP bapt 1737 he married Sarah LAMBELL 1761 in Stoke Fleming
John CLAPP bapt 1741
William CLAPP bapt 1746
Mary CLAPP bapt 1753
Abraham Clapp is proving to be very elusive, there are other CLAPPs that can be found on the 1841 census born in Blackawton but as yet I've failed to connect them. Other names in the family for around 1750 to 1830 include WILLS, HINGSTON, BELDMAN OR BELDHAM & JARVIS - after Blackawton and Stoke Fleming the family seem to have settled in Dartmouth - some of them finally ended up in Cardiff South Wales which is where my gtgt g/father SETH JARVIS CLAPP lived and died.
Some of the CLAPP ladies married into the following families BROOKING, MOSES, OLDREIVE, LEAKER .
Clapp males married WILLS, LAMBELL, ABRAHAM, JARVIS, NASH, CARPENTER & GAYLOR
I hope to hear from anyone who thinks they have a connection or anyone with any suggestions of how to demolish the brick wall
Best Wishes
