My husband's paternal gr-gr-grandmother is Sarah Clapp for whom I have not
been able to find parents and/or siblings. I have a couple Clapp families I
feel she might be part of but I haven't been able to find the proof.
Did any of your Clapp family members migrate to the Darke Co, OH or Randolph
Co, IN area?
I am hoping maybe the given names of her children might give a clue to her
lineage.

> My husband is the grandson of Audie Annie Clapp who is descended from the
Clapp family that arrived in Philadelphia in 1727 on the James Goodwill. In
1747 they migrated to North Carolina later Guilford County. Adam Clapp, the
grandson of those immigrants went to Tennessee and then on to Union County,
Illinois. His eldest son John 'Ike' in the same year 1808 went to Alabama
and lived in Madison County for 22 years thence to Graves County, KY. My
husbands grandmother is the great-granddaughter of John I. Clapp. I have a
lot of information on this family line, but have not been able to find the
birth of John Ike to his father John Phillip Clapp and his mother Barbary
(surname unknown to me). I will gladly share information I have, including
census print outs and would appreciate any information to help me close this
link. Thank you.
