Hello,
John RUGGLES of Scituate, Plymouth, MA, 1729-1812, m. Lusanna BARSTOW,
parents of Deacon Samuel BARSTOW & Margaret STOCKBRIDGE of Hanover, MA. John
RUGGLES was the parents of Joanna BROOKS & John RUGGLES, both of whose wills
I recently posted My notes say their children were: Thomas RUGGLES (m.
Eunice OAKMAN, Mrs. Lucy BROWN Wright); Lusanna RUGGLES; and Hannah RUGGLES
(m. Elisha YOUNG).
Please note that the man reason I have been working with the wills is to get
more information to re-confirm that the parents of my first John RUGGLES who
came to Scituate (m. Joanna BROOKS) were John RUGGLES & Hannah DEVOTION of
Roxbury. Some books say it was John RUGGLES & Martha DEVOTION. However, the
dates do not workout with Martha. I am sure that Hannah is correct. Once
again, my RUGGLES line in Scituate have children named Hannah, not Martha, in
honor of Hannah.

Below is a outline from Rev. Timothy of Rochester to Micah Haskell RUGGLES,
dates above. He is not in my direct line. He is part of the Rochester
RUGGLES who are buried in Rochester. Many of his children are there, as I
showed a few months ago. As you will see below, he was quite famous during
the 1830's. He owned a patent, factories, and owned land (and app. lived in)
Rochester, Troy, NY, Peoria, IL, and other places in IL, and Fall River.
Sev. of his children m. in IL. I found his will (bristol County), and he
said his son Charles was living in IL by 1855. Also, there are a LOT of
deeds for him, his wife, and his children. Also they honored him by naming a
park in Fall River with his name.
Can anyone add to this outline? (From Rev. Timothy RUGGLES down). Is anyone
on this list part of the Illinois RUGGLES? I'd like to know more about him.
Ignore, please, the numbers on this outline. It was cut/paste, and the
numbers are not correct. I just did a direct line. (Just a draft) Thank
you. Betty, Middleboro
PS/I'll type up his will soon.
