Clyde H. Clanton, 87, Indianapolis, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully with cancer, May 24, 2003, with family member present. He was born December, 26, 1915 in Salisbury, MO, and resided in Indiana most of his life. He aided in the construction of Clifty Falls State Park while in CC camp beginning in 1935. He retired in 1979 from Linde Airs where he was a skilled welder for 43 years and served as the union president for 26 years. He was married March 2, 1936 to Elizabeth Rowlett. He was a member of Ben Davis Christian Church. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Elizabeth Rowlett Clanton, son Kenneth Clanton and wife, Jean Clanton of Avon; daughter Nancy Bailey and husband, Eldon Bailey of Indianapolis; sister Wilma Snodgrass of Plainfield; brother Elvin Clanton of Missouri; grandchildren Jeff Clanton, Teresa Clanton, Greg Clanton, Debbie Summers, Bonnie Sneed; great-grandchildren Amber Roth, Brandon Bourne, Jocelyn Clanton!
, Joel Clanton, Nathan Sneed, Michael Sneed, Joshua Sneed, and Erin Clanton and one expected great-great-grandchild in September. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27trh at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home in Plainfield. The funeral will be Wednesday, May 28th and 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Obituary of Elizabeth Frances (Clanton) Threlkeld
From: Mexico (Missouri) Weekly Intelligencer dated Thursday, September 5, 1901, page 3, column 3
Mrs. Bettie Threlkeld, wife of Hiram Threlkeld, 9 miles southwest of Mexico, died Thursday night of heart failure, it is thought. She complained of a smothering spell and walked out into the yard for a few minutes and returned to the house, laid down on the bed an died. The deceased was about 35 years old. She was married to Mr. Threlkeld about 18 years ago. Three children bless this union, one boy and two girls, 15, 10, and about 5 years, respectively. The deceased was a half-sister of Mrs. Annie Daniel of South Mexico. She was a member of the Beaver Dam Baptist Church, where the funeral was preached Saturday at 10 o'clock by Rev. J. J. Porter of Mexico, and the reamins bureid in the Mexico Cemetery. The bereaved have the sympathy of the community.
Funeral services were held Saturday over the remains of Mrs. Bettie Threlkeld. The pallbearers were as follows: H. H. Nelson, John Sanford, William Conner, Charles Marshall, George Crum and William Winn.
