Hi: Good to hear from you. I, too, am not yet retired. Wish I could afford
to to do the things I enjoy but rent is always due the first of the month,
so......
Have a nice Easter and always good to hear from you. Still a lot of
Clanton puzzles to solve, but it is fun but only wish I could visit the
places where they lived to see what I could dig up. Living in California,
however, is a long way of most of their stomping grounds except my 3rd great
grandfather and his family who came here in 1853.
Glad you were able to find a little more on your John and Sarah----Tom.

As an author of 10 books on the transcriptions of old documents I have
thought it would be nice to publish a book on Transcribing Old
Documents. What I would like is suggestions of what the general public
would like to see in such a book.
7 of the 10 books have the Clanton families in them and I am sure that
there are loads of you out there who had family in the Warren County, NC
area in the 1700s and 1800s. I am looking for samples of handwriting
that you are having trouble transcribing. Please submit a scanned copy
of your document to books(a)ancestraltracks.com and I will send you a
transcribed version back for the use of the document in my new book.
Please include a permission note with the scanned document. For those
of you who do not have a scanner please mail the document or color copy
of document to: Ancestral Tracks PO Box 64, Forest Grove, OR 97116-0064,
and I will scan it. If you would like to check out my work please visit
my website at http://www.ancestraltracks.com and please sign my guest book.

Malissa Clanton was my great-grandmother's (Laura Clanton) sister. I am trying to track down any information about Indian heritage. I have a family photo of Laura Clanton, her husband William Henry Thomas and their 5 children, Minnie Pearl, Cora, Luddie, Samuel, James W. Both Laura and Will have many Indian features including high cheekbones and dark hair and complection. Also there are family legends that one or both had Indian blood. One of Samuel's daughters claimed one time to daughter-in-law that she was 3/4 Indian.
