James Petty married Martha Clanton ca 1744 in Virginia. They migrated to NC (Chatham Co) and then to Union Co SC.
We think that Martha's father may have been Charles Clanton, who may have been in Hallifax VA ca 1715 and Orange Co ca 1740.
Any information about early VA will be appreciated.
