Folks,
Apparently we're being "spammed." I hope everyone knows not to open anything
from anyone they are familiar with or have seen on the mail list. Only thing
I know to do for the moment is ignore it. If it continues, I can take
measures...just not sure of the consequences. Anyway, if everyone will delete
it for the moment and let's see what happens.

A lot of you have been wondering why no posts to the list. Here's the answer
straight from RootsWeb. It's very technical terms, but you are welcomed to
read.--Susan
PS: Since I don't know whether list is working or not, I am sending message to
list and individual mailboxes.
I sent a message some time ago about my family and have since been able to
trace my ancestry back six more generations to John Clanton, born 1610.
Thanks for your services!
Now I've run into a dilemma. Once I located a list of slaveholders in
Virginia, and several Clantons were listed. Some had up to 18 slaves. I
believe it possibly was on Ancestry Hometown, but I cannot find it there
now. Is there anywhere I can find the Clanton slaveholders? I have
several relatives who are especially interested in this too.
I descend from the above mentioned John Clanton through Marmaduke (1637),
Edward (1659), Edward (1690), Thomas (1736), Benjamin (1751), and Edward
(1834). I am also interested in the wives of these men, as I only have the
name of one of them.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
Kelley
