Here is the little bit I have.
My g. grandmother was:
CLANTON, Elizabeth (Lizzie) b. Feb. 1865/66 in KS or IL she was adopted at
age 13 by John Landon of Johnson Co. Spring Hill twp. Ochelltree, Ks. Her
sister Martha CLANTON was also adopted, but to the Nathaniel Lucas family of
Johnson Co. Ks. Olathe Twp. Olathe, Ks.
Her Father was Francis S. "Frank" Clanton b. ca. 1819 in MS.
m. Mary Vaughn Feb. 29, 1852 probably AR.
he died Sept.30, 1877 Van Buren, Crawford, AR.
He was married three times, and Mary Vaughn was his 2nd wife.
Mary Vaughn d. 1867-1871 possibly in a wagon train accident.
Elizabeth's sisters and brothers were:
Charlotte (Lottie) b. Aug. 13, 1857 in AR, m. ca. 1875 in Dallas, Tx. to John
Murrel Lemons and died Feb. 1936 in Granby Newton, Mo.

of it.
The only thing I do know is that Lizzie died in 1900 of Lung trouble. Her
husband was Ira Hines, They lived in Spring Hill twp. Johnson Co. Ks. They
had two children

RBaker and I are going to start the CLANTON TREE with William Clanton and
wife of Surry Co. VA. She will present you with info on this man, historical
as well as genealogical. and his family. If you tie into him, and have any
info please do get involved with this tree.
We feel that there are questions before and after this family, and with your
help we will endeavor to find the answers. Please help.
I hope this list will be more than just a place to send a few lines every few
weeks, and will actually develop into something we will all be proud of, and
get alot out of.
