I have a Benjamin Clanin (1809-1849) in my family. His father was Samuel Harris Clanin (1779-1841). Samuel married a Hannah Covel (1782-1860). They were married Sep 1802. My Benjamin had a sister by the name Mary Ann Clanin (1818-). I too am having problems with ancestors. I have Youngs on both side.

I appreciate the information. I don't envy you having to research Brown. On my mother's side, I'm dealing with Johnson, Davis and White!
Many of the Clanins I've researched are from Bunker Hill, Illinois, which is in Macoupin County and that's only about 100 miles from Fulton County.
Thanks for the information and good luck to you. If I should find anything on Hannah, I'll certainly let you know.

I too have been looking for info on Hannah. My gr gr grandfather George Brown from Eng married a Mary Clanin in 1855 in Fulton County Illinois. They had my gr grandfather William G Brown who married Victoria Weese, dau of Pattison and Angeline Clanin Weese. Mary Clanin and Angeline were cousins. Anyway, hard line the Browns. Some of us are trying to figure out if my George Brown had other family, and of course since George and Hannah both married Clanins, you wonder.
