the West, Austrian chef-owner Erna Kubin-Clanin's stucco and stone-turreted
hotel has seemingly been airlifted from Provence and placed next to Yosemite
National Park. French antiques and ceramic-tile fireplaces give the rooms a
Euro feel. Your wrought-iron balcony must have been imported from Paris. The
chambermaids in black frocks and the valets who tend to your hiking boots
further the Franco-fantasy. You'll be forgiven for not climbing El Capitan
but not for missing Kubin-Clanin's cooking at Erna's Elderberry House, where
veal loin stuffed with morels might be followed by warm walnut pudding. When

We have stayed at Brooks lodge twice. Suggest getting a cabin facing the
river. We had #25. They sleeo 4 in bunks, have a shower & small bathroom, a
stove and small table. Tight but comfy. Even in pouring down rain, could
still watch bears in river behind cabin from our porch. Each morning i could
roll over and watch the bears out the window from my bunk! HEAVEN! It can be
extremely expensivr to eat in the lodge so we packed in fruit, crackers,
instant soup, jerky, etc. You can't cook in the cabin. We were there both
time about the last week of August. It was cool, but not cold. I arranged our
own airfare from Anchorage and contacted Brooks Lodge directly. We stayed for
3 nights what some on package tours paid for 1-2. The trip to see the Valley
of Ten Thousand Smokes is worth it. I have not been physically able each trip
to go on the hike when the bus reaches the cabin at the valley. Next time I
hope to go on the hike. Dress warm!

Book materials:
The books listed here present a creation view of dinosaurs and fossils, or
are neutral on the subject unless otherwise noted. They are sometimes
difficult to find at your public library - but DO check there first! You can
even ask if they will order them for you - hey, it sure can't hurt to ask! I
would recommend purchasing many of these books for your own personal library.
These are wonderful books that can be a great witness to others and the kids
enjoy referring back to them.

I put Clanin in the search engine of my online service provider. For a
family that is only one branch, I found a lot. This is what I found tonight.
I wish it was this easy to find cousins from other branches. The is more
about the Clanin who works for UPS, but I only added what is here.

The district judge concluded that, under Indiana law, the fact that the money
came first to Tully, and only later to the Bank, meant that the Bank could
not be responsible to the investors. Indiana treats delivery of the property
to the depository agent as an essential element of an escrow. Nation v.
Green, 123 N.E. 163 (Ind. 1919); Osborne v. Eslinger, 58 N.E. 439 (Ind.
1900); Snyder v. International Harvester Credit Corp., 261 N.E.2d 71, 73
(Ind. App. 1970). Plain- tiffs did not deliver anything to the Bank; instead
they made and delivered negotiable instruments to Tully or one of the other
promoters. Each check was payable to the order of a Mid-America partnership
or an affiliated firm, not to the Bank as an agent. Payment to the promisee
is inconsistent with an escrow arrangement. Clanin v. Easterly Harvesting
Machine Co., 21 N.E. 35 (Ind. 1889). That the offering circulars did not
explain to the investors how to take advantage of the promised escrow is
another black mark against Tully and his lawyers, but the facts are
inescapable.

The latest census records came out and I was wrong about percentages of races
in Houston. Here is the latest results from a city of almost 2 million
people:
37 % Hispanic
32 % White
25 % Black
4 % Oriental
2 % Other
The best city in the United States. A perfect balance of races, and so far,
none of the racial problems of others cities. I have only lived here only 20
years of my life, but I guess I'm a Texan (or anywhere else in the US) and
like to brag about where I live. There is probably around 5 million people
that live in Harris County and surrounding counties, but it doesn't seem like
there is that many people. I have lived in Denver and Houston has the same
population density as Denver. Houston is spread over 550 sq. miles and it is
the biggest little city in the United States. Thanks for listening to me.
Cousins,
I'm back, or is it "It's BACK".
Had a good trip and visits, but I'm not really ready to get
back to genealogy. But if you have any info, send it along
and I will get back in the grove.
We are getting new underground phone lines put in,
and our phones have been goofed up at times. Hasn't
bothered my computer line as yet, knock on wood.
But just in case I don't answer right away, that may be
the problem. The only other problem would be that
I procrastinate also.
Cousin, Jim
While I was inputting into my gedcom file about the Clanin family, I found a
connection to another branch of my family that married into our Clanin
family. Cousin #772 Cynthia (2nd cousin once-removed) married Mark Lewis
Werts (3rd cousin once-removed). They are not related to each other. A
cousin of mine has kept the family history like James and his family has done
but with the Werts family. Isn't it great when you find and connect to
cousins who has done so much work. I will share what I have on Mark and
Cynthia Werts and their family to whoever wants it.
This was forwarded to me from a friend at Mitchell Co. KS. Museum.
Doubt if any of you have this ailment. Jim.

My name is Gene A. Pierce. My great grandmother is Lillie Clanin (#204),
married John Clarence May. I have been online for only six months and just
found James Clanin`s website about our ancestors and cousins. My GG
grandfather Albert Clanin married Mary Vaughn. I have old family pictures of
the Vaughn family and would be willing to share them with anyone who would
want them. Some of the Vaughn pictures include some of his siblings. I also
have family pictures of the Clanin-May family. I am looking for any
information on my ancestors and siblings. Would be willing to share anything
I have about descendants.
Hello Cousins,
Have a correction from Gene Pierce about "Marriage

this info to Pleas William Clanin #205 on Page 77. All of
this is correct in the book except Neil's Army and Lee
Willard's Navy information. Delete the entire Marriage
