Cousins,
Just received this from my McAfee Virus Alert.
Hope you don't mind my passing it along.

VIRUS ALERT - IRC/Stages.worm
Dear McAfee.com Dispatch Subscriber:
IRC/Stages.worm is an Internet worm that began spreading rapidly on 6/19.
McAfee AVERT has assessed it as a HIGH-risk threat. McAfee.com Clinic users
who used VirusScan Online after 6/16 have protection against this worm. The
worm uses Microsoft Outlook to send copies of itself to all entries in the
address book and through installations of Pirch, ICQ and mIRC.* It also
spreads to all available mapped drives on your system.
This worm will arrive in an email message with this format:
Subject: "Funny", "Jokes", or "Life Stages", sometimes followed by "Text"
Content: "The male and female stages of life"
Attachment: "LIFE_STAGES.TXT.SHS" (the suffix ".SHS" may be hidden)
If the attachment is run, the user sees a list of jokes while the worm
infects the system and attempts to send copies of itself to all addresses in
Outlook address book, as well as through the other channels mentioned above.
* Pirch is an internet relay chat client for Microsoft Windows 95/98/NT,
mIRC is a shareware IRC chat client for Windows and ICQ lets you initiate
IRC style chat sessions - it alerts you when your friends are online and
lets you chat with them.

Cousins,
Received this from Clara Mann Clanin of Lewistown, IL. This is her
only son. She is a very lovely lady and I am sure this is a great loss to
her.
She contributed a lot of material to the Clanin Family History.
Cousin, Jim

Cousins;
I will be going to Kansas next week, looking for Toto. Not really,
I'm going to Beloit where my ancestors were. Just thought I would
explain why I will not be answering any email for a week.
Cousin Jim, List Dad.
Cousins,
For anyone that did not get the information on the two
Minnie Clanins. Minnie A. Clanin: Minnie (married to
Marshall Baxter): The 1880 census showed Reuben's family,
including Minnie, age 7. That would make her birthdate
about 1873. In that case, she would have been the daughter
of Reuben and Jane Townsend, who died in 1875. Reuben
and his fourth wife, Mary, were not married until 1884. At
that time, Minnie would have been about 11.
Arline George
I also have Minnie B. Clanin, 8 March 1885, married 20 December 1907
to Oscar L. Gentis. Marriage record, Book 14, pg 237, Grant Co, IN.
She is the daughter of Edward W. Clanin s/o Samuel & Susanna Duffield.
Sherri Neff and I have the same info for her.
There is also another Minnie b: abt 1875 in Richland Co., WI.
d/o Benjamin Franklin Clanin, Jr. and Susannah Waller.
Enough Minnies. Jim
Hello Cousins,
This is what I have from the 1860 IN census.
Reuben Clannan 45, abt 1815, actually 1 Mar 1814, so the
census was taken before March 1860. After his birthday
he would have been 46.
Jane Clannan, 26, 1834, actually 1832.
Sarah E. Clannan 21, 1839
Elizabeth J. Clannan 18, 1842
Hannah A. Clannan 18, 1842 Twins
Alphema Clannan 16, 1844
William Clannan 15, 1845
Lucinda Clannan 13, 1847
Margaret E. Clannan 8, 1852
John Clannan 6, 1854
Cyntha E. 8 mos. 1859 Children of Reuben & Jane
Townsend
Mary J. Clannan 8 mos. 1859 Twins
Isaac b: 1848, d: 1854 I will ask Doug about Isaac.
Mary b: 1848, d: 1854 and Mary's birth dates.
You will find the rest of the children in the book.
So many of the dates have no source and have
probably been taken from the census, especially
if it is only the year. That's why the book needs
work.
The International Genealogical Index (IGI) shows
several Clanins born in Darke County OH. The only
one that actually was is Hannah Ann Clanin who married
Jackson Spencer. She was born in 1842 in Greenville.
She is the daughter of Reuben and Mary Clevenger.
If Elizabeth is her twin, as is thought, then she must
have also been born in Greenville.
I have a daughter of Reuben & Mary Taylor as
Minnie A. Clanin, m: Marshall Baxter. No dates at all.
I rather doubt this, as Reuben was 70 when he married
Mary who would have been about 55. Another question
for Doug.
Have fun researching.
Jim

Hi Cousins
as I'm entering the family info into my software program, I'm finding(as you
are probably already aware) some dates that don't make sense.
Could you check the birthdates you have for some of Rubin Clanin and Mary
Clevenger's Children?
William Clanin and Alphema Clanin both born 1844
(could they be twins? My grandfather says no)
Elizabeth J. and Hannah Ann both born 1842( twins possible according to
grandpa)
Isaac Oct 1848 and Mary Clanin 16 October 1848
Also were there any other Children to Rubin and Jane, besides Thompson?
One last question, did Rubin have children with Wives Mary Taylor or
Elizabeth Gabriel that you know of.
I will be looking in Clermont Co, Darke Co. and Montgomery Co, Ohio over
the summer for more info on Rubin Clanin.
Hugs

Hi Clanin Cousins,
I have just published the "Unofficial History of the Clanin
Family." It consists of the Descendants of Benjamin Clanin,
the Descendants of Edward Harris and the Ancestors of Mary
Harris. I will have to charge the price of printing and postage,
which will be $13.20 + $ 4.30 postage; total $ 17.50. It is 237
typed pages on one side, with a spiral binding. There are a
lot of mistakes of dates and places and a lot of sources
missing. I am asking everyone to look it over and let me
know what these mistakes are and sources for the facts that
have none. I did not edit this book, since it will not be a final
copy. That is, notes for Benjamin appear twice, some
marriage data is given twice and burial info twice. I will
edit that once the corrections are taken care of. We will
have to sort out the correct corrections to make. I have
different birth, marriage and death dates from several people.
Here we will need to sort out the correct source.
If you would be interested in a copy, let me know.
Be sure you give me your address, even if I might already
have it. Just to be sure.
Cousin Jim
