This is the other answer I received from the Madison Co.
mail list. The Saul H. Clannin in the previous cemetery list
is Samuel Harrison Clanin (Clannin). Some of these dates
do not match what I have and I don't know which is correct.
Adds a little to our MO. family. Cousin Jim.

There is also a Serena Feeney buried there, who is a daughter of Samuel.

Alexander Clannin in 1911. That was her 3d marriage which occurred after my

than the fact that Alexander provided information for her death

HI Cousins
I just returned from Grant Co Indiana I recieved some info from Victor
Clanin's Daughter Joetta and also have made arrangements with my uncle Wayne
CLANIN to get a complete copy of the Clanin Family history back to Benjamin
Clanin and further back with Mary Harris. My cousin Millie(She is my late
mother Faye Clanin Journey's first cousin) has done a super job of
researching and documenting the Clanins, she suggests in her research that
the Clanins are descendants of the French Huegenots who escaped to Ireland
from France to avoid religious persecution. More on this later.
I will begin posting some of the info as I can.
I also visited Thraillkill Cemetery in Swayzee and Photo'd all the CLANIN
tombstones I could find.(This would include Ruben, Samuel and William
CLANIN's and wives graves). My 88 yr old grandfather Cliff Clanin went with
me and helped me with some of the relationship connections.
We then proceed to Washburn Illinois, and visited Mt Vernon Cemetery, which
contains a lot of the William Black family, who are related to the Clanins
beginning with G.w. Clanin and Emma Black.(Any one interested in this
connection E me privately and I'll share info)
While in Illinois I visited another cousin Hazel GILL Soberri, and found the
GILL connection I had been searching for at the MT vernon cemetery. My
grandfather Cliff CLANIN Married Serena GILL in Eureka, Illinois in 1932. If
you are interested in the John P. GiLL(b 1813) line E me.
Grandpa Cliff then took me to the areas along Wasburn-Eureka RD. where he
was raised, then showed me the areas where his g grandfather and uncles
homesteaded. There were 5 homesteads in all he told me.
The saddest part of the whole trip was that Grandpa knew so many of the
deceased in the new section of the graveyards we visited and he'd stop and
reminince about each one. I could have filled my notebook over 3 times, and
wish I'd taken a tape recorder.

Hi Cousins
I belong to the Ancestory.com web community and today I could search the
Essex county Mass. probate records. for the years 1638-1840.
here's what I found on Benjamin clanin and 3 of his children.
Description:
With a collection more complete than many other states, Massachusetts
probate records are kept by each county rather than the state. This database
is an index to the probate records of Essex County between 1638 and 1840.
Each entry shows the name of the person, date of probate, and type of record
(will, inventory, etc.). It also provides a brief description of the record
that may include the individual's profession, town of residence, and record
number. For those Ancestry.com patrons seeking ancestors from northeastern
Massachusetts, this can be an informative index.

Cousins and Sherrie,
Good find, Sherrie.
Yes, he was a mariner also, but doubt that was his main
occupation. He was captured by the British and imprisoned
on the prison ship "Jersey". Only sailors were imprisoned
on the ships. Most ships had coopers as crew. He may have
arrived in the colonies as a crew member of a ship and
remained. This may be why we haven't found him on any of
the ship manifests.
We have copies of Benjamin's probate papers and the
children's papers. I will have to find and get them together
and make copies. He did die intestate (without will) probably
because he was a prisoner of the British. I don't know why
anyone, in those times, did not make a will.
If anyone, who would like copies of these papers, will
let me know, I will get copies made and send them.
Cousin Jim List Dad.
Cousins,
Can anyone identify where Sarah Jane Clannin (Clanin)
fits into the picture. I got the info from FTM, descendants of
David B. Lindsey. I had Nathan 2 and Amanda J. in my data
but not James who's second wife is Sarah Jane. As you can
see Hezekiah Clanin is married to Louvada Lindsey. So
Sarah should fit in somewhere.

Cousins,
Received this from another Mail List. List Dad Jim
I'm sure you have all heard something today about a new virus.
I've included information on it below. This is a very
dangerous virus. Please read the following message concerning
the nature of the virus. Last I heard, there was a fix
developed late this afternoon. If you have anti-virus
software, run the update. If you don't have anti-virus
software, I highly recommend obtaining it. If you have
questions about the virus, I will try to answer them.
F-SECURE WARNS ABOUT LOVE LETTER EMAIL WORM
New Melissa-like worm went world-wide in hours
ESPOO, Finland, May 4th, 2000, F-Secure is warning users about
a new e-mail
worm called VBS/LoveLetter. This worm spread by e-mailing a
file called
LOVE-LETTER-FOR-YOU.TXT.vbs around.
VBS/LoveLetter is written in the VBScript language. By
default, programs
written in VBScript operate only under Windows 98 and Windows
2000.
However, Windows 95 and NT 4 users are vulnerable as well if
they have
installed version 5 of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
The worm was most likely written in the Philippines. It was
first spotted
on early morning of Thursday the 4th of May.
The worm arrives to users in e-mail message attachments named
LOVE-LETTER-FOR-YOU.TXT.vbs. On a default Windows system, the
".vbs"
extension is not visible, and users might mistake the file to
be a harmless
text file (.TXT). If the recipient open the attachment, the
worm will use
Microsoft Outlook (if installed) to send a message to everyone
in any
address books (including global access books of the
organization - these
typically contains hundreds or thousands of addresses). The
messages look
like this:
From: Name-of-the-infected-user
To: Random-name-from-the-address-book
Subject: ILOVEYOU
kindly check the attached LOVELETTER coming from me.
Attachment: LOVE-LETTER-FOR-YOU.TXT.vbs
As address books typically contain group addresses, the end
result of
executing the VBS/LoveLetter worm inside an organization is
that the first
infected user sends the message to everybody in the
organization. After
this, other users open the message and send the message again
to everyone
else. This quickly overloads e-mail servers.
"This worm spreads amazingly fast", comments Mikko Hypponen,
Manager of
Anti-Virus Research at F-Secure Corporation, "we got the first
report
around 9:00 on Thursday morning from Norway, and by 13:00 we
had reports
from over 20 countries. We estimate that total number of
infected machines
is already in tens of thousands of macihnes."
In addition to spreading over e-mail, the worm also tries to
use companion
techiques by greating new script files next to existing JPG
and MP3 files
and by overwriting existing local script and HTML files with
its own code.
The virus contains this text:
barok -loveletter(vbe) <i hate go to school>
by: spyder / ispyder(a)mail.com / @GRAMMERSoft Group /
Manila,Philippines
A technical description of the virus is available in the
F-Secure virus
description database at:
http://www.F-Secure.com/v-descs/love.htm
Sample pictures of e-mail messages generated by VBS/LoveLetter
are
available in the F-Secure virus screenshots center at:
