Hello Mel - I have just connected my Clancy branch to Youghal, but decades later than the date you mention. Were you able to learn more about your Clancy family, when there?
My ancestors Mary (Guinane) & John Clancy, born in 1866 & c 1861 respectively, may have been living there in 1915, as their daughter Ellen Margaret (born 1908) died there in 1915, age 13. Other children were William Joseph (born 1899, Cork), John Thomas (born 1904, Cork), and Cora Mary (born 1906, Cork). I'm seeking descendants of these children.
Thank you,
Nancy Peregrine (nancyperegrine(a)yahoo.com)

In the 1911 census, it states that they had been married 12 years, birthed 8 children of whom 4 were living.
John Clancy, 50, National teacher
Mary Clancy, 45, National teacher
Wm Joseph, 11
John Thomas, 6
Cora Mary, 4
Ellen Margaret, 2
Also living with the family:
Margaret Guinane, 71, mother-in-law
Catherine Guinane, 36, sister-in-law
I hope to find descendants of these children. Mary (Guinane) Clancy, the mother, was born in Limerick City, but her family moved to Cork City in the early 1870's.
I know quite a lot about the Guinane side of the family, am seeking info on the Clancy family, especially descendants of the children mentioned!

I am searching for info on the this family:
1911 Census, Croghtamore (part of Bishopstown) Cork City:
John Clancy, 50
Mary (Guinane) Clancy, 45
William Joseph Clancy, 11
Cora Mary Clancy, 4
Ellen Margaret Clancy, 2
Margaret Guinane, 71 (mother-in-law)
Catherine Guinane, 36 (sister-in-law)
Mary Guinane Clancy, the wife & mother, is related to my Guinane family from Limerick City & Annagh townland, Murroe, Co Limerick. She was probably born in Limerick, as were the next few children. The family then moved to Cork. Mary's family:
Thomas Guinane married Margaret Keogh, in Limerick, parents,
Children:
Mary Guinane (date of birth unknown, before 1868)
Martin Guinane, 1868, St Munchin's, Limerick
Catherine Guinane, 1870, St Munchin's, Limerick
Bridget Guinane, 1873, St Patrick's, Cork
Michael Guinane, 1876, St Patrick's, Cork.
Thank you in advance for any help with finding descendants of these people!
