Hi,
Check these links out:
http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/index.xmlhttp://www.leitrim-roscommon.com/index.shtmlhttp://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/search/
I looked at these last night, but unfortunately my computer gave me some problems and I couldn't get my reply posted. Hope it works this time.
You may have already looked at these. In the GV, I did not see any Clancys on Glenboy. On the L-R website, I checked for proximity of Cloonclare to Inishmagrath and found they do have a common boundary. I also checked the 1901 Census to see who might still be living on Glenboy, I found six Clancys. Too bad GV doesn't have a townland search as the 1901 census does.
If you haven't already, you might want to join the Co. Leitrim mailing list at Rootsweb, along with the Clancy surname list, and post everywhere you can -- Genforum, Rootschat, etc. Never know where someone might have a clue to break out our brickwalls.
Since this list doesn't doesn't show email address, I would suggest you check Genform for mine. Look for my postings on my McKernan/McKiernan name. It might be a good idea to have each other's email addresses. Never know when we might want or need them.

Hi CatLady,
Thank you for your response! That's a great idea to search the LDS site for the birth record in Ireland. I didn't realize they had records from Ireland. I'll definitely give that a try.
I was able to find my Mary Clancy's marriage license through the LDS search and found out her birth year is much earlier (1851) than she stated on the census (1864), so maybe won't be found in the Ireland civil birth registrations. I guess people didn't always give accurate info on the census? The marriage license also listed the parents' names (James Clancy and Bridget Rollston). They lived in Glenboy which is one of the townlands next to Manorhamilton.
Interesting that you also have a Mary Clancy from Manorhamilton -- maybe there's a connection as you mention. I'll keep your post in mind if I find any more information to connect us.
I found out that the Clancy clan is very prominent in the Manorhamilton area and northern county Leitrim. Here is a informative site and book if you are interested: http://www.clancyhistory.com. I ordered the book and really like the historical context that it gives.
Thanks again for your very helpful response!

Hi,
If you are seeking more specific information on Mary Clancy b.1864, or slightly thereafter, suggest you check your local LDS for the indexes of the Civil Registration of Births In Ireland for the year 1864 and years thereafter. This is the year civil registration in Ireland began. Just look for Mary Clancy listed in Manorhamilton. If there is more than one, then you will have to order more than one film, to find the film you need. The index will give you the vol. & page number where you can find her actual birth info, which will include the names of both her parents, including the mother's maiden name, the parish and townland.
I also have a Mary Clancy from the District of Manorhamilton. However, only recently, I found out she was born in 1821. She had numerous children, including a daughter named Alice. It's possible somewhere back in time, your Mary is connected to mine. Unfortunately, this is all the info I have on my Mary Clancy. I just know she married Bryan McKernan/McKiernan, and some of their children's names, including my maternal grandfather, James. They lived on the townland of Mullaghbawn, Drumkeeran, Inishmagrath RC Parish.
Hope this is of some help.
