Michael,
Ancestry contacted me to flag your post, so I am not sure it was flagged for Liz Pauline or for Jim. I will email them and direct them here.
Good stuff!

Liz Pauline,
The Clancy family that you are interested in is probably here in the 1911 census:
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Leitrim/Tullaghan/Uragh/...
Your grandfather Hugh would have been 14 at the time. Hugh's brothers William and Daniel are not listed because they had already come to America. Daniel is my paternal grandfather.
I replied to your query on the Furey Board as well. It gets a little confusing because two Clancy Brothers (Hugh & Daniel) married two Furey sisters (Bridget & Susan) here in Philadelphia. You are a descendant of Hugh and Bridget. I'm a descendant of Daniel & Susan. Crazy world, eh?

Hello,
I am seeking information on Mary Clancy, born about 1864 in Manorhamilton, County Leitrim, Ireland.
Mary emigrated to New York City around 1870, possibly with her sister Alice Clancy, born about 1869.
Married to John Culleton from Waterford Ireland. Their children are Alice (born 1887), Margaret (born 1889), Agnes (born 1893). Alice Culleton married Patrick Mungavin.
All lived in New York City from about 1870 to about 1910.
Thank you!

Well then, you should get yourself to Sligo ASAP and indulge in a seaweed bath!! Remarkable and very rejuvenating experience.

Loved your description of the area. My Clancys (along with half a dozen interrelated families) were all from Lislary, parish of Ahamlish, Co. Sligo, right along the coast. Per Griffith's, they had the right of gathering seaweed, which always amused me. My great-grandparents (Thomas Clancy and Brigid Moffitt) were married at the chapel at Grange in 1875, emigrated to northwest PA in 1880. Never had much luck accessing information about early burials in the area -have been able to obtain baptismal records and marriages, but not much about burials, unfortunately. Related families include Moffitt, Feeney, Hart, Healy, Freel, and Waters in Sligo, and Healy/Haley from Leitrim, dating from the late 1790's.

My great-grandfather Thomas Clancy came from Lislary, parish of Ahamlish, Co. Sligo, about 1872, along with brothers John and Michael. All of them settled here in northwestern PA. They left at least one brother in Ireland, possibly other relatives. Lislary is a very small spot on the coast, north of Sligo. They were related by blood and/or marriage to Moffitt, Hart, Haley/Healy, Waters, Feeney, and Freel, among others.
