I am looking for information on William Clancy who
Married Catherine Gallagher October 16, 1862 in the
Kinlough RC Church. William's father is listed as
William Clancy of Uragh and Catherine's Father is listed
as Daniel Gallagher of Uragh on the marriage certificate.
I would like to know if anyone can tell me where to find
more information on the father's William Clancy and Daniel
Gallagher. These are my GG Grandfathers.

Looking for information re Daniel Clancy, b. c. 1835 in Co. Clare, Ireland, immigrated to Holley,Orleans Co, NY, married Mary Moriarty, b. c. 1835 in Dingle, Co. Kerry, had 9 children, Thomas, Patrick, Margaret, Mary, Daniel, Sarah, John, James, and Katherine. Some were born in NY and some in WI as they moved to Oshkosh, Wisconsin. I am descended from their son John, who was wrongly named as "Jennie" by someone named "Geri" who posted a query about this family in Jan 2001. I saw it too late as the email was no longer valid. I am hoping she will see this and contact me. Daniel had a sister, Mary, who married Patrick Hurley. Also a brother, Thomas, who went to Canada. Mary had a sister, Johanna, who married a Kennedy (there are Coffeys in this line), and a brother, Timothy, whom I have not been able to locate. If you are part of this family, please contact me.

Although your message appeared some time ago, I had not seen it until today. I have been working on genealogy off and on for a few years now. My late husband was Eugene Antony Gillen from London, Ontario, Canada. I found on the LDS Family Search site ancestors of my husband shown in the 1881 Canadian Census as follows:
John Gillen age 48 (makes birtdate 1834, born Ireland,
wife: Catherine Gillen (Clancy) age 46 (makes birthdate 1836) born Ireland.
Children all born in Minto Township, Clifford, Wellington County, Ontario, Canada. as follows:
Mary, Age 22 (1859)
Lucey Age 20 (1861)
James Age 18 (1863)
John Age 16 (1865)
Mochile Age 14 (1867)
Bridget Age 12 (1869)
Martin Age 10 (1871)
Palary Age 10 (1871) (Twins??)
Daniel Age 6 (1875)
Sarah Age 4 (1877)
This John Gillen would have been my husbands great, great uncle. Family ledgend says that three brothers came to Canada (I believe these were William Gillen b. 1829 m. Bridget; and possibly another brother Michael Gillen line and that family also lived in Minto Twp., Clifford, Wellington County in Ontario, Canada.
The legend continues that two of the brothers left Canada and moved to the U.S. The John Gillen family mentioned above moved to Erin, Minnesota, U.S.A. in 1881 (after being registered in the Canadian Census) There is an Ancesral File at LDS Family Search site for John Gillen and family.
Hope this helps. Would love to hear from you.
