Hi Ann ----Here's the odd coincidence: My father died on exactly the same day as Jean,
April first. Except Dad died in 1969 when he was 55.
I have lots of info and pics ...Is it possible to e mail me at work ?My email is jclancy(a)ctv.ca .I am a reporter for
CTV News in Halifax Nova Scotia. It might be easier to send info back and forth through a more secure network.
I am so delighted to hear from you as are my children.
I am working today anchoring our 6 o'clock newscast so I have to run. Be well. Jo Clancy

Merry Christmas!!
What a treat to hear back for you. Yes, Jean was my grandmother. She passed away on April 1, 1991. She used to tell me stories about her family in Saint John. She did tell me that her brother was a brewmaster for Moosehead beer, but I didn't know that there was a clancy's beer named for him. What an honor, I will have to see if I can buy some around here. I live in New Jersey, I am married and we have 4 sons. My grandparents Had two sons Charles James Capozzolo, and John Capozzolo II. I am Charlie's daughter. My father passed away in 2001, he had two boys and one girl. I knew I had the same name as my great grandmother Ann, and the middle name of my grandmother Jean. My grandparents did have a gold cadillac, and I know my dad and his brother used to spent time up in Saint John with their grandparents. Do you still live in Saint John? Would love to learn more about the Clancy family. Ann

Hi Shannon --so if I have this right, my Aunt Jean who was my dad's older sister, married John Capozzolo. They had a son John who is my first cousin and he had a son who married you.
I am looking for any information on Jean Capozzolo and her
children so I guess that would be your father in law ---
mostly pictures or any information at all on her life in the United States. I had no contact with any of my fathers family.
He had only one sister who stayed in Saint John.Bobby and Jean moved to the States.I am mostly looking to see if there is any family resemblance as I am the youngest and look like no one, though most people say I look like my dad.I have a picture of your husbands great great grandmother Ann Horgan if you would ever like to see it as well as pictures of my dad , your husband's great uncle Joe.
Most of the women on my father's side including Aunt Jean if I am remembering correctly were short with really dark eyes and curly hair. My mother said that Ann Horgan had eyes that looked 'purple; and that her hair went snow white when she was 16.( oh those Irish!)I am also looking for any what I call genetic footprints ie predispositions to certain things --on the Clancy side that would be law and order professions ( all of my three brothers) lawyers
reporters( I am one) and Chemists-engineers ( I think I told you Clancy's beer made by Moosehead -- ) is named after my father.(your husbands great uncle)Oh and we're crazy about football and rugby.
Please send me back some questions and I'll do what I can
to track info down here. Part of the reason you likely couldn't find Aunt Jean's info in the New Brunswick Vital Statistics database is that her birth records have her incorrectly listed as Jane
Veronica.
Still hoping to hear back from Ann but haven't yet.
I think I mentionned that the Ann on the Clancy side
was one of Jean's sisters and my father's who died in infancy and apparently my parents thought making my name Joanne would honour both my dad Joseph and her.
Hope you didnt lose power in the storm!
Best regards,
Joanne

Hi Ann,
I know we haven't met, but it seems like it after hearing all the family stories. My husband is your first cousin (John Capozzolo III). We live in Syracuse, NY. He says its been some time since seeing you last :), and wishes you all well.
I'm sorry I can't be of more help. I just started our family tree last winter, and have only just recently picked it back up again. As you may already have seen on the message board, Joanne has provided alot of information on the Clancy family.
Have a wonderful holiday! Maybe we'll meet up someday.

Hi Joanne,
Thank you so much for all your information; it ~ along with this winter storm we're having ~ has spurred me to get back into our family tree. I usually do this in the winter months so I'm sorry I haven't responded sooner. I married John Capozzolo III, his dad (John Capozzolo II) is your first cousin. We all live in Syracuse NY. John II married Shirley Squadrito and they had two children: Shirleen and John III. I'd love to be of more assistance, but it looks like you're farther ahead than I am. It was so nice to hear from you. Please have a great holiday!
Shannon

Hi Ann ---If Jean Clancy was your grandmother and she was also my aunt ---I guess that makes us second cousins.
My father is Joseph Clancy and he was Jean`s only brother, the youngest in the family. I don`t know where you live but Clancy`s Beer is named after my father ( her brother).
My father died in 1969. He had four children , three boys and one girl.I met my Aunt Jean once when she and Uncle Johnny visited us in Saint John. I don`t remember why they drove up but they did in a gold cadillac. Is that possible --Being the youngest , I don`t know how much contact Jean and my father had.The only one of his sisters who stayed in Saint John was Aunt Sarnie--whose real name was Florence.
She married a MacLaughlin. Can you get in touch with me--I have been searching for my fathers family my entire life.
With thanks, Joanne Clancy

My paternal grandparents were John Aaron Davis and Lee Ann Brunson. Family lore has it that they were cousins. I have been searching for THAT family that ties the two together. It might well be Clancy. Mary Elizabeth Clancy married Samuel R. Rutherford. This would tie the Clancy name with my grandmother Brunson. In the 1880 census, Louise "Lovie" Clancy and 2 month old son, John W. Clancy are living with Aaron T. Davis in Dale Co., AL. This ties the Clancy name to John Aaron as Arron T was his grandfather. Would really appreciate any assistance. My Brunson and Davis line also ended up in Grimes, Milam, Bell and Falls Counties in TX.
