Hi
My mother is a Clancy, her Mother was Catherine Clancy, born in Glasgow in 1877.
Parents Thomas Clancy and Bridget Flaherty.
My mother remembers her telling her the name was Glancy, but the records are all Clancy.
She said they came from Kilkenny in Ireland.
I have researched as well as another relation, our Clancys seem to have lived in the Gorbals, Govan or Tradeston area. Foleys and Flahertys are related. They suffered many deaths in the bombings during the war.
Thomas, Bridget, Julia, Catherine, Tim are names that have carried on. Do you think there could be a connection?
