Message Board Post:
Hello,
I am seeking information about the following people:
Thomas O'Brien, b. abt 1819 in Ireland. Married Mary Clancy, b. abt 1823 Ireland.
The first child is James, b. 1844, Ireland.
Then there is a 12 year gap between this child and John, b. 1856 Glasgow Scotland. (I assume there were more children here, but haven't found them yet).
Next is Michael, b. 1859 and Catherine, b. 1862, both in Glasgow, Scotland.
James went on to marry Sarah Docherty, b. 1844 in Glasgow, daughter of James Docherty and Margaret Watson.
I am trying to find out where in Ireland the O'Briens were from. Any papers I have so far only say "Ireland", no more.
Does anyone out there see any connection?
Thanks for reading,
Jacky

Hi Cheryl,
I know of the descendants of John Dunlea and Elizabeth Clancy (born approx 1820’s) but the names of Darby Dunlea and Mary Salmon do not appear. If there is a connection I suspect we need to go much further back in time.

While visiting a local cemetery today, I found several Clancys buried in St. Patrick's Cemetery on Riverside Drive in Johnson City. Luke, Celia, Martin, Hugh and Bridget were the names I found today. All are buried in the same section.
