Both born about 1800 Waterford, Ireland. Family to Brazil with 2,400 other Munster area Irish in 1827 for service in Brazilian army. Revolted with Germans in June 1828. 2,000 Irish sent back home. John CLANCY and family to Portland Maine by late 1828, where he had two brothers. Family to NH, back to ME. Anyone else have descendants of the 2,400? Might Patrick and David in ME be the two brothers?

this is a long shot in the dark but do you happen to have any information about a Clancy family that lived in Fall River, MA? I know that my dad's side of the family is somehow related to them and that they owned a Livery/ Funeral home in the late 1800's-possible early 1900's. I have a photo of this but can't seem to make any connections. My dad's family name is Gienty. They lived in Fall River and then were in Newport, RI. Any suggestions? Thanks
Looking for information on a Bernard P. Clancy who married Katherine O'Brien on September 12, 1889 in the town of Marlborough, MA. He is the son of James Clancy and Rose Keaney Clancy. The bride and groom were born in Marlborough. Both sets of parents were born in Ireland. The brides parents were Patrick O'Brien and Bridget Kennedy.
I know that Bernard and Kate had 4 children: Mary Frances Clancy born Feb 17, 1891
Helen Clancy born Aug 1895, Francis Clancy born Dec. 14, 1898 and Harry Joseph Clancy born March 12, 1901.
Any information would be most appreciated. Thank you!

Diana,
Just saw your message. Sounds like I am related to your husband. What was Bridget's married name? I don't know if I have that one.
By the way Thomas and Mary Maggever (McIver on then headstone) are buried in North Attleboro, MA.
I am in RI not far away.
Jim Clancy
