FISHER – Alice L. Boyd, 89, of Fisher passed away at 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2009, at
the Gibson City Annex.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, at the River Valley Church
of Christ, Fisher. Rev. Andy Baker will officiate. Burial will follow in the Willowbrook
A visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the Church.
Mrs. Boyd was born Nov. 3, 1919, in Wayne County, a daughter of Fred and Mary (Calvin)
Haile. She married Orval Boyd. He died Nov. 12, 1988.
She is survived by six brothers, Arthur (Ferne) Haile of Paxton, Alfred Haile of Opdyke,
Harold (Mary) Haile of Belle Rive, Ray Haile of Waveland, Ind., Earl (Rhonda) of Paxton,
Donald (Sarah) Haile of Keenes; three sisters, Lena Rainwater of Mount Vernon, Florence
(Lyn) Estes of Fisher, Wanda (Carl) Sparks of San Antonio, Texas; three grandsons, Brett
(Michelle) Boyd of Indiana, Eric (Kim) Boyd of Colorado, and Brad (Susan) also of
Colorado. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Eugene, her parents, two sisters and a brother.
Mrs. Boyd worked as a cook for Fisher Schools and also at a local restaurant. She was an
active member of the River Valley Church of Christ. She loved to cook and sew and was
active in the Senior Citizens of Fisher and worked with them in quilting.
Memorials may be made to the River Valley Church of Christ.
