Back in October, I ordered an expensive test from FamilyTreeDNA.
I still haven't had the results. The latest "expect your results by"
date is 9 April. But I'm taking this with a shaker of salt, as there
have been several missed promises already, one from no less than the
head of the business in personal conversation at a show in London.
They say... when you find the right place to look... they were
overwhelmed by the response. But they don't seem to be able to figure
out when they will be able to process the work in their in-tray?? One
place on my pages it just says "Test results pending"... I would have
thought, and I thought the head man agreed, that it might be an idea
to change that message to something pointing people who were waiting
for what they'd paid for to the place where there is a longer
"explanation", at least?
=== REASON FOR THIS POST: To ask>>>>
How many others ordered further tests on already submitted samples in
October? And of them, has anyone had what they paid for then yet?
I took some convincing that submitting DNA was "safe", but having
finally overcome my concerns on that front, I was initially very
impressed by the services provided by familyTreeDNA... but their
(mis)handling of the October sale and problems arising has dented my
enthusiasm and trust.
