How in the world did you find me ...I am in Philadelphia right now I will be
bacl om \st. L. on Tues. I will write to sdyou then I am not familiar with
the name Clampitte.
Only Clampitt.
Joel.
I am searching for information on my Grandparents.
Earl Foster Clampitte (b. approx 1888, possibly in Cleveland Ohio) and
Genevieve May WRIGHT CLAMPITTE (b. approx same time period or after.
Both buried in Chicago, IL)
A rather long story from my Mother, but records that I have my Grandfather
listed as CLAMPITTE. This spelling coming from my Grandfathers brother
Lawrence CLAMPITTE (from Riceville, TN) saying that the family did not know
how to read or write therefore did not know how to spell and the correct
spelling was not CLAMPITT but CLAMPITTE. Then there is some tidbits about
being related to the Caldwells and the Tates in Wacco TX. It just gets more
confusing the more I ask.
I suspect that Grandparents were born in Ohio and moved to Chicago at some
point. I have a marriage certificate dated 1911. I am mainly looking right
now for information for my Grandfather as I have NO information to go on
except the marriage certificate and knowledge of where he is buried.
Any information would be appreciated
Thanks in advance,
Kathleen Lennon
