I would really appreciate any help anyone can offer in tracing information regarding my great Uncle Charles Clamp and his descendents who emigrated to Calgary, Canada in the early years of the last century (Charles in1907 through Halifax) I have established transit to Calgary by his wife and children in 1908 on the Empress of Ireland through Quebec but the trail for me then runs cold.
I have found the death of a Charles Clamp in 1924 listed on a grave site (Burnsland Cemetery Calgary) but this gives no further details so I cannot confirm this is actually him. I can find no record of his death or the death of his wife but have (I think) found a record for the death of one son, Rex, in Victoria BC in 1977.
Details are as follows:
Charles Clamp born in Walsall, UK 1879
Lizzie Clamp born about 1879
Roy Clamp born Walsall 1902
Frank Clamp born Walsall 1904
Rex Clamp born Walsall 1906 (possibly died Victoria BC 1977)
If anyone can assist with any further information on any of the above or their descendents that would be great, and very much appreciated.
Thanks
David
