Hi,
I am tracing my father's family through their family bible that starts with William Clamp b. April 27 1859. He married Sarah Jane and their children Mabel, Arthur, George, Winifred, Edith and Stanley were born in Nottingham. Might this be the William you are looking for? The family moved from Nottingham and settled in Stathern in Leicestershire. where William and Sarah Jane are buried.
regards
Karen

Hi there
I can see that this post was nearly ten years ago, however my great aunt, Ellen Clamp, (married name Kibble) spent many years living in India around Calcutta and came back to the UK following Indian independence in 1947.
The moment will probably have passed after 10 years, however let me know if you would like to know more.
Regards
David
