Dorman, John Frederick was the genealogist who compiled the information in "Claiborne of Virginia The first 8 Generations." The name Dorman does not appear elsewhere - like the table of contents) in the book.

I am looking for the parents and family of Ellen Elizabeth Claybourn, in Indiana, born 1855 or 1856, who married Franklin Pierce Clark, born in Indiana 1853.
Her father is listed as Andrew Claybourn and his wife died in childbirth with Ellen, and that is all I have. any further info would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, this does not sound familiar. I know that ophelia was in Batesville, Arkansas September 1862 as that is when her sister left for St. Louis and then France. James and Ophelia had at least two children one born about 1869 according to letters between the sisters. I have been unable to find the family in 1870 census, and as I have said before, James died about 1874. I have found nothing of Phelia in 1880 either. I will continue to search. Thanks for your input. I may do some research on Mr. Proctor in Tenn.

My ggrandfather was daniel webster Napier of dickson co tennessee. He was born on april 15 1876 and his sister Lucy Jane Napier was born on april 5 1874. They were orphaned and taken in by Henderson Proctor of Dickson co Tennessee. Could this be of any relation of yours? I understand there were 5 children and one was taken to Kentucky by a doctor for adoption. I don't know where the other two went. Does any of this sound familiar?

Do you happen to know if the person who has this DORMAN book is still available? We are searching for the parents of Benjamin Franklin Dorman of MD.
Thank you.
