Message Board Post:
New York Times food columnist Craig Claiborne claims Alexander Claiborne and Elizabeth Ann Taylor (md. 1834) as his direct ancestors. There is more about his branch of the family in his memoir and recipe book "Craig Claiborne's A Feast Made for Laughter." He also refers to a book called "The Taylors of Tabernacle" which he says traces this Taylor line back a long way -- he claims descendancy from King Edward I, though he doesn't specifically say it is through this line.
