Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Hello,
I hope you will forgive this somewhat off-topic post, but I feel it is
important to share our experiences with others, and there is no better
combination than that of our two favorite pastimes: Genealogy and Computers!
I received a request (message given below) from a writer who is preparing an
article for a highly regarded family computing magazine. He asks to be put
in touch with anyone who will be helping to plan a family reunion this year,
or who has done so in the past, by using information available online.
I contacted the editor of FamilyPC, and was assured the article is being
written for the Travel section of their June 2000 publication.
If you would like to help Sam Perkins with his research for this article,
please contact him at perki72(a)ibm.net
The reunion site he refers to is on the Homespun mailing list webpage:
http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~homespun/
...and my newest, the Oklahoma Reunions page:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~okkingfi/family.htm
Again, I apologize for straying a bit this morning!
Thank you,
LaRae

For an article I'm writing FamilyPC magazine, (working title) "Summertime
Reunions Via the Web," to appear in June 2000, I'd like to be put in touch
with people you might be aware of who have used Homespun-Country Kitchen's
and/or other web or computer tools to plan family reunion vacations. The
article
will help our readers see what options are out there.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
