Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Hello,
I would like to tell you about a terrific addition to our family research
capabilities. You may or may not have heard about these message boards, but I
thought I'd give a bit of explanation about them, and invite you to stop by
and give them a try.
An important feature of Rootsweb's online genealogy is the GenConnect system.
Originally designed to post queries on county pages, it quickly grew in
popularity to the point where the current full suite of boards is now
available to genealogists. At present, there are a total of seven boards on
which you may post your family research information:
Bible Records - Biographies - Deeds - Obituaries - Pensions - Queries - Wills
Essentially, the boards are a central collection center for family data. The
primary advantage of using the GenConnect boards is the ability to log
valuable information on the surnames you research, and, in return, you will
be able to read detailed material logged by other family researchers.
The first GenConnect board to visit should be Queries to familiarize yourself
with the way the system is set up, and be able to post those "brick walls" we
all have. Other popular boards are Biographies and Wills--they are easy to
post and share a great deal of valuable information with others researching
the family.
More information may be found on the CLAIBORNE GenConnect homepage...

I hope you will take advantage of this addition to CLAIBORNE online genealogy!
