Hello David Huffey,
I believe we have conversed before.....
The William Claffey discussed in these posts (William Claffey Sr. Civil War Veteran ) is my great grandfather. The photos mentioned are from my private collection handed down to my father Joseph Harold Claffey (son of William Claffey Jr) who was grandson of the the Civil war veteran. The CW veteran died 1900 or 1901. His wife was of course my great grandmother and I remember her well. I was 19 years old when she died on Friday July 30, 1948 and I attended her funeral. They are both buried in Washington Cemetery having lived all of their lives except for his Time in the Civil War in Rankintown , a section of Washington Pa., Washington County P.
William Claffey Sr. was the son of Thomas Claffey and Christina Seibert.
Thomas came to America from Longford County Ireland as a small boy of 5 in 1813 with his parents James and Jane Claffey. I have a copy of the "Intent to Naturalize paper"
Signed with and X) saying that he spent 3 and 1/2 months on the ocean and landed in the port of New York.
All of these stories cam n be found on my web site the "Claffey Home Page"
with extra stories and photos as well http://homepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~camounts/http://homepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~camounts/willclsr.htm
Hope all this information plus wheat you will find on the web site helps. If you have other questions please ask , Regards Carol Ann Claffey Mounts (camounts(a)comcast.net)
PS I have also given a copy of William Claffey Sr. to the Anderson Federal Museum Anderson vill Georgia folks along with long narrative. TWhen last I visied he

Hello Ronn,
Are you a Claffey Descendant or relative ????
How did you acquire the photos of my great grandfather William Claffey Sr(Civil War veteran).
?? Could you be referring to photos that I submitted to Andersonville Prison museum a few years ago along with a detailed story of his history???? William was imprisoned there during Civil War after being captured at the "The Wilderness" Battle.
Would like very much to hear back from you . Regards Carol A Mounts
