Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Friends,
Good morning from a 'COLD' southwestern PA.
10 degrees here and I know some of you are much colder than that.
I know that (due to extra intrusion of Spammers), many of you do not
want to subscribe to lists.
I gotta tell you that the Claffey List has been hit badly by spam recently
BUT it seems to only be a problem for me as list owner because Rootsweb
folks ask me to check out anything that appears to be spam. Consequently, I
must daily delete about 10 to 12 messages.
For Now my plan is to start submitting most of my own personal data to the
list.
BECAUSE....
ALL CLAFFEY material on the list has been and will continue to be archived .
That means it is all data submitted is dated, saved and searchable and has
been so since JUNE 1999. There are approximately 289 messages there.
Take a look in at URL (web link)

Happy Hunting.

These are pictures of the marker in the Claffey Chapel. These were
taken in September 2007. I have other pictures from Claffey markers
at Clonmacnoise, if you would like me to share. Let me know and I will
send some of them. Kevin W. Claffey

My mother was from County Offaly. We have relatives (all spelled Claffey)
burried in and around Clonmacnois dating back hundreds of years before 1860.
There are even the ruins of a small Claffey chapel on the grounds of
Clonmacnoise. My second and third cousins still own farms surrounding the ruins of the
St. Kieran's monestary.
