Hi Jim,
Thanks much for the message.
I bought a similar book years ago of surname Claffey. All that information is now on line.
Very shortly thereafter, we received another flyer for a book on surname Mounts. Needless to say, we passed this one up.
Hope others are not taken in.
Regards Carol Mounts

I have received an invitation to order the 2004 International Claffee Family Yearbook for $39.85 plus $5 shipping from a company in Denver. Based on prior experience, this is a rip-off. Notice the fine print: "This data is for you to do your own genealogical research." Similar offerings consist of a list (available free on the internet) of people with this last name who are listed in the white pages of phone books, a bunch of blank forms, and addresses of places where genealogical data is available. The current edition probably contains nothing that is not available on the internet. These books are issued periodically inserting whichever surname they are milking that day. Just thought you would like to know.

I know that some of you travel to Ireland from time to time. If you ever get to Co. Tipperary, there is one stop I would like for you to make. Camillus Claffey was the abbot at Mount St. Joseph Abbey in Roscrea, Co. Tipperary, from 25 Sep 1944 until 21 Feb 1962 and I have been told that he did a great deal of genealogy research on the Claffey family. In the past I have contacted the current abbot asking if information on this research exists perhaps in the abbey library. I have never received a reply. I am sure a personal visit would produce better results, which could prove valuable to our family research.
