In the next few days I will be sending Ohio Claffey research for the Ohio page to Carol Mounts for posting. If you have any family from Ohio I would appreciate your careful review of this page as I found almost as many questions as I did answers. Any help you can offer would be most appreciated.

In response to Claffey-List query:
My name is Helen V. Claffey Doyle, I was born in 1959 to my parents Robert Claffey and Helen Fallows. I am trying to figure out if our linage. And hope that somewhere in the information that you have already aquired you may have some information that could help me on my quest. I know that my grandmothers name was Sarah and my Grandfathers name is James. That lived in Philadelphia, PA They had five children named Jim, Sally, Ed , John and Robert. I was hoping you may be able to give me some information that may help me.
Thanks
Helen V. Doyle
I believe you are speaking of James A. Claffey of Upper Darby township, Delaware Co, PA (a Philadelphia neighbor).
James A. Claffey was b @ 1899 in PA. His parents were from Irish Free State, and he worked as an Engine Man on steam engines for the railroad. He was married to Sarah D. Claffey b @ 1900. A daughter Sarah was born @ 1929. Sally is the nickname for Sarah. If this is the correct family, I have information on the other children.
Was your father Robert B. Claffey and your mother Helen G. Claffey. Do you have birthdates, etc.?
If you can confirm that this is the family you are looking for, I can tell you how to proceed. Any birth or death dates you have would help.
Jim Claffee
