Dear friends,
Many of us have William Claffey Sr as an ancestor. Those of us who do, know
that he was imprisoned during Civil War in Andersonville Prison. Today on a
message from Rootsweb's ANDERSONVILLE-L , I found a message from Kevin Frye
who has an Andersonville web site. The URL for it is
http://www.angelfire.com/ga2/Andersonvilleprison/index.html
I wrote to him to ask if we could link Claffey Home Page to his. He not only
agreed but has added a page on his site for other Ancestors descendants web
pages and so has added "Claffey Home Page"
URL is < http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~camounts/indexc.html >
to that list. I am working to add this info to "CHP" but do not have it
ready for publication as yet. Will have it in a day or two. The
Andersonville site is quite interesting and Kevin does lookups for folks,
also.
There are also stories there of Clara Barton and many photos of the
cemetery. I have been there and it is like returning to see those photos.
Fond regards to each of you. Carol Mounts
Fellow Listers,
This web site is neither genealogy or nostalgia "but" it sure is fun :-)
You just type in a city such as Washington PA. You can then go north, south,
east or west. Zoom in on familiar buildings. Find a familiar landmark !!!
This is essential!! It is very easy to get lost. Follow streets and
roads that you are familiar with and "Voila", you can find your house, or
Wash High or the Eiffel Tower. Enjoy

Will have other notes for you later. Carol
