Dear Listers. Ann Claffee suggests this as a "Great Place To Visit" . I
heartily agree. I will add it as a link on Claffey Home Page. Carol Ann

Fellow listers and friends, Several items to report --
1. I trust you each had a Happy Thanksgiving. We sure did here in Mounts
Hollow : -)
2. Ann Claffee has sent a note to be added as a December addition to lost
and found page of "Claffey Home Page" at URL
http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~camounts/indexc.html
Ann's note reads
[James Claffey of Brooklyn, subject of Great Britain; recommended by
John
Claffey of Brooklyn - 4 November 1840. From naturalization documents in the
Court of Common Pleas.]
Our James Claffey died March 22, 1837, so this is a later generation. Our
James had sons John and Thomas, daughters Susannah, Mary and Katherine.
Could this James be a relative,
who came after???
If you have not visited the web site lately, Lost and Found is where we
place Claffey or related Surname Claffee/Claffy/Claffie (or other variable)
folks that we can not connect to our research. Perhaps you will find a name
there that you have been looking for. We try to add items there the first
of each month.
3. Much progress has been made in cleanup of Old Donegal Catholic Cemetery,
near West Alexander. burial place of James and Jane Claffey. Will soon post
pictures on Cemetery page.
4. Have added a gedcom file of my Claffey family to Rootsweb World Connect.
This web site is an excellent research tool for anyone looking for any name
ancestors.

Fellow listers, have added an indexed Mounts Claffey gedcom file to
Rootsweb World Connect. URL is below. I see it needs more cleaning up but
will update it in a few days. I presume URL stays the same. Have never done
this before so have had a learning experience. Carol

Fellow Listers,
For those of you who have been there ---- You would not know the place !!!
Glenn and I spent much of last week cleaning up the Old Donegal Catholic
Cemetery near my home. where our ancestors James and Jane Claffey who came
from Ireland in 1817 are buried.
Our son donated the survey. Our grandson Jason was part of the survey crew
that did the work, then he took the plans before the Donegal Planning
Commission.
Ownership was established and permission granted by the owner for cleanup
to begin and we started in again with Jason's help. There is still more work
to be done in the spring, fence painting and tree cutting but the hardest
part is done. Will put 'before and after' pictures on Claffey Home Page as
soon as they come from developer.
To all of you --- A Happy Thanksgiving. Carol Ann
Fellow Listers, Have added three new pages to Claffey Home Page site. If you
have not seen the page lately, why not stop by. We continue to improve.
1 . Ann Claffee has submitted much census review of Claffeys in and around
1850.
2. I have added an Outline Descendant List for James and Jane Claffey, who
came from Longford County Ireland in 1817.
3. Added information about David Claffey from Groveport, Ohio. Part of which
was borrowed from Brent Claffey "Claffey Connection" web page Archive
Collection and part was added from my own research .
[Have tried several times to contact Brent Claffey and seem unable to reach
him. If any of you hear from him, please let me know.]
4. We continue to add queries to web page. Would be glad to post any Claffey
query you might have. Please keep in touch.
