Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Hi folks, a couple of hours ago, AOL began blocking Rootsweb List2. At
the moment, no List2 Rootsweb lists are able to deliver any mail to any
AOL subscribers. Rootsweb is aware of the situation, but I would imagine
that a holiday weekend may prevent a quick fix to this problem...:-(
See Listowners message below:
"The block this time around seems to be just on lists2 and it started a
few
hours ago. The block is at the SERVER level and there is nothing your
subscribers can do to adjust their spam filters--this is an AOL
situation and the
subscribers will need to contact: postmaster(a)aol.com and tell them they
want mail
from the RootsWeb lists2 server and that the IP address of that server
is:
66.43.18.39".
