Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Hi listers, QR and NYEssex have already seen this, but they're part of my
master Lists List...:-)
Regards, Fred, Admin of 24 Rootsweb lists and Boards...

sure it is either because of the number of people who are trying to access
it right now, or because it was just put up. Their news bulletin about the
censuses was dated the 23rd of October, so it must be very new.

Hi folks, I'd like to remind you about two valuable resources, and they
are...:-)
WWW.ROOTSWEB.COM Worldconnect, both my wife (Holly) and I store our
genealogy files there, mine is unclefred, her's is thewifey...They allow you
to search, update, add postits, and delete (Your) file at will, very
effective...
The 2nd is the Rootsweb Boards, sometimes you see on the lists, cryptic
messages gatewayed to the list, these are from the boards...Not all lists
have associated boards (QR), but most do, these are places where the entire
genealogy community may review your questions/answers, a wider audience than
the lists, (yes, I do know about the archives)...Sooo, if you'd to make my
job more difficult (I admin 14 boards), drop by from www.rootsweb.com and
click the Message Boards tab...
Also, if you would like to try Admining an existing board, or start a new
one, I'll be glad to help you...
Regards, UncleFred

Hi folks, just a headsup, the www.familysearch.org site has updated their
IGI files,
the site has been mostly down for the last few days, but seems to be working
now...
The names in the IGI are now linked together into families, (sorta) where
possible,
also LDS members can access OI data by a secure logon process, see the site
for more details..
