Thank you! The Westminster Historical Society is publishing a book, updating their series on "Walk Through Westminster History - Lowell Boulevard" and in the editing process, it was pointed out that the parents of May weren't known so I was asked to do find info for parents & husband.. If you are not Westminster or Colorado local the information WHS is "This is a home that was built by the community with love for a special resident of Westminster, May Hoover. In May 1949 May was the first person in Westminster to contract polio. The entire community came together with ... fundraisers in the effort to raise enough money to build a home for her that would accomodate the iron lung and other medical equipment. May graduated from Westminster High School in 1951. On Christmas Eve 1951..the town of Westminster welcomed her to her new home."
Linda Cherrington is the President of the Westminster Historical Society and she would be thrilled to receive what you have and may want to share, or donate to the Westminster Historical Society. If you choose to do so any pictures can be scanned & then returned to you. The WHS e-mail address is whshistorical at netzero.net Phone303-430-7929. If you are not local the Westminster Historical Society maintains the Bowles House Museum at 3924 W. 72nd Ave. WHS meetings are the 3rd Saturday at the museum and if you would like to join the WHS the cost is $10 and you get a monthly newsletter "Historically Speaking". The mailing address is Box 492 Westminster CO. 80030-0492

Rudy Clack, Rudolph Earl Clack, was my uncle. May was my favorite aunt. I lived with them for a year and took care of her during my growing up years. I have some information on her parents and family members.
I will send you information if you wish. I also have pictures of some of May's family.

May Hoover (1932-1985) was the first person in Westminster, Jefferson, Colorado to contract polio in 1949. Residents of Westminster conducted fund raisers in order to build her a house on donated city lot to accomodate her iron lung. In all the newspaper accounts no parents are named and a husband, Rudy Clack, is mentioned peripherally. Anyone know who Rudy is? And information on this individual and who May's parents may have been?
